The world famous London Tube map is being sponsored by Freepages. The groundbreaking deal is worth a significant sum and runs for a year.

Tube maps on display at all London Underground stations have been redesigned to incorporate the Freepages logo and contact number. The pocket Tube map and the free ticket wallet used to store Carnet tickets are also branded with the Freepages logo.

Freepages is a provider of classified directory information to the consumer via the telephone and internet (http://www.freepages.co.uk). One free call to 0800 192 192 will access a friendly efficient operator ready to search for details on nearly 2 million businesses and services covering over 3,200 different headings across the UK.

Guy Stratford, Head of Commercial Group for London Underground said: "This exclusive deal with Freepages is the first time that our Tube map has been sponsored by an outside organisation. We are always ready to explore opportunities that provide extra customer benefits by maximising our income from sponsorship, and giving us more funds to invest.

"The Tube offers companies like Freepages unique access to affluent and opinion forming London and Home Counties commuters. Over three quarters of our customers are ABC1s while visitors from the rest of the UK and overseas provide an added bonus."

Nigel Robertson, Chief Executive of Freepages said: "We are delighted to sponsor the London Underground in such a highly visible format and believe that both Freepages and London Underground’s customers will benefit enormously from the association."
