London Transport has launched an official Internet World Wide Web site. The site, containing a comprehensive range of useful information on London Transport, London Underground and London Transport Buses, is located at http://www.londontransport.co.uk.

Every page on the new Web site reflects London Transport’s corporate identity, using the world-famous roundel to provide links to other pages. The information held on the site includes a guide to using the transport system, facts and figures, press releases and details of the London Transport Museum.

Norman Cohen, London Transport’s Marketing Director said:

"London Transport recognises that the Internet is gaining prominence as a global communications medium. I believe that the time has come for us to provide information to anyone with Internet access in the form of a well-designed World Wide Web site.

"Our new Web site delivers a major benefit particularly to overseas visitors who can collect essential information before leaving home, easily and cheaply. However, I am sure that all visitors to the site will appreciate the straightforward design and depth of information which it offers."

The site is the fruit of over two months work by Internet production company Corsellis-Montford Group Plc, as James Corsellis explained:

"We have relished the opportunity of working so closely with London Transport on the development of their Internet presence and on the design and creation of their Web site.

"Our Internet production and design experience, in conjunction with the ideas and feedback from London Transport’s skilled Marketing Department, has resulted in a site of which the teams can collectively be proud."
