Carnet proves just the ticket in central London _______________________________________________________________
 type Press release
For getting around in Zone 1 on the Tubes, London Underground has frozen the price of the Carnet, designed to make travelling around central London easier and cheaper.
The Carnet is ten single tickets in one wallet that can be used for travel on the Underground anywhere in Zone 1. From the New Year, Carnet will be even greater value with a saving of ?on buying single Zone tickets, compared with the ?saving at present.
Norman Cohen, London Transport’s Marketing Director, said: "We’ll be freezing the price of ?, making it even better value for money. Not only does the Carnet save you money, but it is also more convenient, with no need to queue for tickets or worry about having the right change every time you travel."
Already the Carnet is proving popular, not only with busy commuters, but also with anyone visiting London who needs to get about in Zone 1.
The ten separate Carnet tickets can also be used by more than one person. For example they could be used for lunch with friends, or by workmates planning to meet for a drink; they each simply take a ticket from a Carnet and hop on the Tube.
Carnet tickets are available from London Underground ticket offices and adult Carnet can be purchased from larger self service ticket machines at Underground stations and selected Pass Agents. They are only valid for travel in Zone 1.
