Visitors to the UK's most popular heritage attraction - the Tower of London - can now buy their tickets in advance from any Tube station thanks to an exclusive deal with London Underground.
Following successful trials, this special deal allows ticket holders to gain entry directly to the Tower of London upon arrival. Tickets purchased from Tube stations are valid for seven days. This is the first time that such an arrangement has existed between London Underground and a tourist attraction.
The full range of Tower of London ticket options are available from Underground Stations, including Adults (?30), Children under 16 (?50), Family (?.95) and Concessionary (?70).
Norman Cohen, Marketing Director for London Underground said: "Many visitors travel to the Tower of London using the Tube system. For these visitors it is clearly more convenient to buy tickets for the Tower from any Underground station."
"Following earlier trials, this is the first time that London Underground has allowed tickets for a tourist attraction to be sold from Underground Stations. I am confident that it will be an overwhelming success."
Donna Gelardi, Business Development Manager for the Tower said: "I am delighted that London Underground agreed to implement this initiative. We know that about 60% of our 2.5 million visitors come to the site by Tube. Now visitors can buy their entrance tickets from any one of over 250 Underground stations while buying their travel tickets.
The Tower of London is one of five unoccupied Royal Palaces looked after by Historic Royal Palaces. The other palaces are Hampton Court, Kensington Palace State Apartments, Kew Palace and Banqueting House, Whitehall
The Tower is close to Tower Hill station on the District and Circle Lines and Monument Station on the Central Line.
