type Press release
The brand new First Class Lounge at Coventry Station, promises to be a popular addition to the existing facilities when it is officially opened today.
The Lounge, which has been converted from a former meeting room and storage area at a cost of £130k is conveniently located on platform 1 next to the Executive Car Park.
Customers using the Lounge will be able to relax in the ambient surroundings with complimentary light refreshments or alternatively make use of the business area which contains pay phones / pay faxes and an Internet link.
For those requiring a little more privacy when making a phone call, a special ‘phone booth’ has been created away from other seating areas.
Whilst a Grade II listed building, the colour scheme and choice of soft furnishings have brought the Lounge bang into the 21st Century.
Access to the Lounge will be by swipe card and whilst First Class season ticket holders will be issued with them automatically, all station staff will also be equipped with cards for easy access.
Speaking at the opening, Chris Green, Chief Executive Virgin Trains said:
""The First Class Lounges that we introduced at Euston, Manchester and Stoke on Trent, are all proving very popular with our business customers, and I’m delighted to be here today to bring a little Virgin difference to the Midlands.""
