Wessex Trains is pleased to announce that on weekdays from Monday 13th January therewill be an extra carriage on the 0824 service from Exmouth to Exeter. This is thanks to funding from the Strategic Rail Authority’s ‘Rail Passenger Partnership’ scheme.
The scheme has provided the opportunity to hire an extra one-carriage train for use in Devon and Cornwall. In the morning it will attach to the two-carriage 0824 from Exmouth, which atpresent regularly has more passengers than seats available. In the afternoon the train willprovide a new service from Plymouth to Penzance and back.
Commenting on this, Wessex Trains’ Managing Director, Charles Belcher, said: “We aredelighted that we can now ease the overcrowding on this popular commuter train, thanks to the support of the SRA.”
