Summer Timetable Raising Hull Trains' Profile in Doncaster _______________________________________________________________

type Press release
Hull Trains is taking to Doncaster's airwaves, newspapers, bus-sides and poster sites in a campaign featuring its on board staff to remind customers that the railway summer timetable is starting on 18 May; and what more appropriate time than when the country has enjoyed an early ray of summer sunshine?
Speaking about the information campaign, which will run until the end of May, Hull Trains Marketing Manager, Paul Lakin said: "We traditionally invite our staff to be the focus of our campaigns; we want to reflect their commitment in delivering fantastic customer service - in fact Hull Trains has the highest staff to passenger ratio on the railways. The fact that our staff are the mainstay to the campaign - this time it's the turn of crew Zoë and Sofia - is indicative of the great team spirit at Hull Trains, and I know that that spirit is reflected in the way that our staff work really hard to ensure that customers enjoy the experience of travelling with us."
"But there's more to this year's campaign" Paul Lakin added, "it's an opportunity to show a great example of the railway getting right, and here it is right on Doncaster's doorstep. I am confident that passengers who have not used our services to London before will experience an exceptional standard of service, comfort and reliability. But it's not just me that's saying it, earlier this month Rail Passenger Committee Secretary for North Eastern England, Ernie Preston, said 'Hull Trains has a strong reputation for customer service' and that's a great compliment."
But Paul Lakin did warn customers that with summer, so will come a short period of Network Rail's planned engineering, which will effect some weekend services from the late May Bank holiday to Sunday 8 June inclusive: "Network Rail's engineering time is at premium and whilst it is never welcome in the short-term, it's vital that the rail industry works together to allow for maintenance. There is huge demand on the major routes, and it's in everybody's interest to ensure they are well maintained to cope with the volume of rail traffic. It won't last long and won't interrupt peak time travel.
But there is more long-term good news on the horizon, with Hull Trains currently negotiating additional train paths to London with Network Rail, the company is also expected to announce a deal which will see the introduction of brand new 125 mph train sets in early 2005. Hull Trains has also recently announced that will be appointing a new managing director shortly, and the new MD will be hosting a customer forum in Doncaster later in the summer.
Hull Trains' weekday timetable does not change with the introduction of the summer timetable, continuing running four direct services a day from Hull to London.
