Reflecting the increasing numbers of passengers using Bradford on Avon railway station, Wessex Trains today announced that the ticket office at station would remain open for longer during the day.

Previously, the ticket office would close at 1340. From Wednesday 6 August, in a trial to determine whether longer opening hours would benefit passengers seeking later ticket bookings or seat reservations, the ticket office will remain open from 0620 until 1800, Monday to Friday.

Announcing the new opening times, Wessex Trains Service Delivery Manager for Mid Wessex, Jon Godden said: “I am pleased that we have been able to introduce this important improvement, providing passengers with more opportunities to purchase their tickets and plan their journeys.

“Bradford on Avon station has a growing number of rail users and it is important for us to be able to reflect this in the hours the station is open. Last year over 200,000 passengers used this station and we are keen to see this increase. Given its location only a short journey from Bristol, Bradford on Avon is an excellent commuter point with regular services throughout the day. Also, a simple change at Bristol, or in the other direction Westbury, provides journey opportunities throughout the South West and to many other parts of Britain.”
